Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Journey

As a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor for the past six years, Oceana is committed to fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and positive impact in everything we do. Our core values of courage, trust, respect, accountability, and teamwork guide us as we strive to create an environment that is fair for all and recognises unique identities, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is based on the principles of the Constitution of South Africa, the Constitution of Namibia, the Bill of Rights in the USA and the constitutional values of equality, non-discrimination, and the promotion of human dignity.

By integrating these values into our core operations and initiatives, we aim to not only make a positive impact within our business but also contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society as envisioned by all relevant Legislation and Bills.

This commitment is further emphasized by Oceana’s Values which were created by all employees across the geographies we operate in, which are:

Collaboration and teamwork are at the core of our diversity and inclusion efforts, driving innovation and excellence together as a team.

We have the courage to embrace diversity in all its forms, recognising the unique perspectives and contributions of every individual and to speak up against any discrimination or unfair practices.

We hold ourselves and everyone around us accountable for creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.

We build trust to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.

We respect and celebrate the diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and talents that each person brings to Oceana.
